Ulman exemplified the types, functions, application and methods of ethics committees which are the integral part of research ethics and good science. In this context, she elucidated that the aim of bioethics is to rationally resolve conflicts between values; to choose the right thing to do; to justify our choices and actions based on the underlying values and principles. She emphasized that submitting scientific research projects to the evaluation of a multidisciplinary ethics committee that can decide independently and impartially serves human and public health, strengthens science, improves health care, and ensures accountability and transparency towards science and society. Addressing the issue in the light of international declarations and literature, In conclusion, Ulman stated that all research and experiments on humans should be carried out in accordance with universal values of human rights & dignity that uphold and respect the ethical principles of Autonomy (obtaining informed consent, not intervening without consent), Beneficence - Nonmaleficence, Justice and Equality, Confidentiality and Privacy.
